Length of Appointments
During your first visit, Dr. Low will spend as much time as needed to understand your reasons for seeking psychiatric care and your goals for the future. After the initial visit, your appointments will last between 30 and 50 minutes depending on the nature of your treatment.
Late or Missed Appointments
Dr. Low begins and ends each appointment on time. Please contact Dr. Low at least 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment. Charges will incur after the third appointment that is missed without prior notification to Dr. Low. Please keep in mind that missed appointments disrupt your progress in treatment.
Phone Calls
Dr. Low requests that you limit phone calls to emergencies only. For all other matters, please wait until your next appointment to consult with Dr. Low. Non-emergency calls are returned within one-two business days. If Dr. Low is away for any length of time, her calls are forwarded to the covering psychiatrist.
Medications and Refills
Inform all of your doctors about all of your medications and any new medical problems. Dr. Low does not call in prescriptions in lieu of an appointment, and requests for refills are considered only after Dr. Low has had time to carefully review your medical history. For refill requests, please email Dr. Low at julylo7@aol.com with the medication required, the pharmacy name and number, and in most cases, if clinically appropriate, the refill will be called in within 72 hours.
Payment
Payment in full is due at the time of each appointment. Checks or cash are accepted. Checks should be made payable to Julie Low, M.D.
Dr. Low does not accept insurance, but provides her patients with a universal claim form they can submit to their insurer for reimbursement. Delinquent accounts may be assigned to an outside agency for collection. Please talk with Dr. Low if you are having financial hardship so that she can work out a payment plan with you without disrupting your treatment.
Questions or Concerns
Dr. Low believes that excellent communication is the foundation for any lasting and meaningful therapeutic change. Therefore, she encourages her patients to share with her any questions or concerns they may have about the treatment plan.
